Day 5: End of the Tents of Encounter and personal prayer
On Monday, the morning prayer invited the capitulants to return to the source of Madeleine Sophie in Joigny, to surrender our lives and our world to the action of the Holy Spirit.
Each capitulant was then able to continue her visit to the Tents of Encounter to discover the realities of the possible new provinces, their challenges and riches, the steps taken together this year and, of course, their musical and culinary cultures. It was a joyful and intense sharing experience.
In the second half of the morning, each potential new province got together to share inspirations, ideas and challenges that could help build the new province.
The capitulants then gathered in the Chapter Room to share their thoughts on these issues:
Through the visits to the Tents of Encounter, what important steps have already been taken by the Society? Do we think that there is something that has not evolved significantly?
The afternoon was devoted to personal prayer with the text from Moses chapter 33:
“When Moses went out to go to the Tent, all the people rose. Each one stood at the entrance to his tent and followed Moses with his eyes until he entered.
As Moses entered the Tent, the pillar of cloud descended, stood at the entrance to the Tent, and God spoke with Moses.
All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the entrance to the Tent, and they all stood up and worshipped, each one before his tent.”
The capitulants were able to pray with the following questions:
How do I see our Society at this moment in our history?
What is God calling us to be and to do? And what spiritual stage am I myself at in this moment of the Society?
The day ended with a personal reflection.
