Sister Barbara Dawson, our Superior General, has formally convoked the 2024 General Chapter. The theme for the Chapter is:

COURAGE, CONFIDENCE, TRANSFORMATION
THROUGH THE POWER OF THE SPIRIT
Luke 4: 14

Over the past year and a half, each of our areas / districts / provinces has held their respective Chapters in preparation for the General Chapter 2024. You can see the images for each area/district/province’s Chapter below.

We invite the Family of the Sacred Heart to accompany us by praying with us. The General Chapter Prayer is in the slideshow at the top of the page (click on the arrow at the right to move to the next slide), and other prayers and prayer resources will be posted here daily. We also encourage you to follow the news and updates about the General Chapter that will be posted on this page.

Let us entrust this process and our discernment to Mary, source of God’s presence among us, so that we too may open our hearts to God’s call to us now and continue to reveal God’s love as women of faith among the people of God.

The General Chapter will take place from August 1 – August 31, 2024, at Centro Ad Gentes in Nemi, Italy.

The General Chapter is brought to a close

The General Chapter of 2024 was officially closed on August 31, 2024. In her address, Claire Castaing rscj, our new Superior General, spoke of courage and risk-taking, of the value of vulnerability, and of transformation.

We have a new General Council!

The International Society of the Sacred Heart is pleased to announce the nomination of the new General Council: Ananda Amritmahal (IND), Noellina Namusisi (UGK), Francisca (Paqui) Rodríguez (ESP) and Sheila Smith (USC).

Day 29. Courage for the journey

Thursday was a day of much reading for the capitulants, as their task in these days is to give content and form to the General Chapter Document.
