Day 25. Reflection and synthesis
On Sunday morning, the capitulants prayed with a poem of Jan Richardson: For Those Who Have Far to Travel.
“…take the vows the pilgrim takes:
to be faithful to the next step;
to rely on more than the map;
to heed the signposts
of intuition and dream;
to follow the star that only you
will recognise”.
After prayer, the capitulants worked briefly in the large language groups, then they had a longer break, while the trios of animators prepared their syntheses about their experiences in the four groups.
The day continued in plenary, with the presentations of the trios and a discussion of items that need further clarification. This final synthesis was an opportunity to see how the different perspectives and conversations converged, to identify possible decisions to be made, as well as recommendations and topics to work on after the Chapter. The day ended with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr. Laurentius Tarpin osc.
